1. What is the fabric composition?
Ask whether the saree is pure silk, a silk blend or another fabric. Ask for the composition of the body, border and blouse piece where relevant. A photograph, shine or soft touch alone does not establish the fibre content. Request any certification details the seller actually provides for the piece.
2. Is it handloom woven, and where was it made?

3. What exactly is included in the price?
Confirm the total price and whether the blouse piece, fall, edging, tailoring, packing or shipping are included or charged separately. Ask for an itemised bill. Decide your total budget before comparing sarees, including any blouse stitching and finishing you may need.
4. Can I see the body, border, pallu and blouse piece?
Request a full view rather than only a folded photograph. During video shopping, ask to see each part clearly and check the blouse piece and any visible marks. Colours can look different across screens and lighting; ask the team to describe the colour and compare options before deciding.
5. Will the saree be comfortable for my function?
Explain when and how long you expect to wear it. Ask about the feel, weight and drape of the available pieces. If you visit in person, see the saree opened out and discuss your preferred border size and style. A higher price alone does not mean a saree will suit your needs better.
6. What are the care and storage instructions?
Ask for care instructions for that saree, including the fabric and zari work. Follow its label and the seller’s specific guidance. Do not use a home burning test or other damaging method to identify the fabric. Keep the bill and the product details for future reference.
7. What are the return and alteration conditions?
Read the returns and exchanges policy before paying. Ask whether cutting the blouse piece, adding a fall or tailoring affects eligibility, and confirm any time limits and shipping charges. Obtain clarification before requesting alterations.
